Education in Britain - Homeschooling

What can you discover about non-government funded schools in Britain?
A lot a schools support by personal at present,I remembered when I was came to UK before,I checked all the schools types from internet,non-government founded schools in Britain could be some languages schools, several schools by churches,or some could be like skill training schools.

What are the advantages or disadvantages of homeschooling?
I have seen a TV program who has called Teacher's channel recently, one of the topics was about homeschooling, three lovely girls were in a famliy, youngerst sister is 6 years old, other two sisters, one is 8 years old ,one is 11 years old, their parents decided teaching their own kids by themselves at home.
Parents said they thought not because their child special than other kids, just because they living so far away from their school, and they went to see the school but they didnt think the school will suit for their kids, another reason was they believed teaching at home they could be learn more knowledge.
So in my opinion, homeschooling is good for some parents teaching at home, they would use a totally different ways to teaching kids which is suit for their child. It is not diffcult for parents right now, because they could be download any informations from internet, and they do have a lot of teaching materials at home on the internet.Children might be have more chance to choose what they like to be,but everything has two sides. So I think it could not suit for any parents or kids, some parents might not like teachers, may be the subject is too diffcult or professional, even parents could not understood totally, howcome they told to children fully.

Hi Michelle

Thanks for writing on your blog about education in Britain.

What do you mean by 'A lot of schools support by PERSONAL?

When I talk about schools, I mean primary and secondary schools. You are right, there are of course language and skill training schools, but here we are looking at education, particularly for children aged between 5 and 16.

It seems that for the family you learned about on TV, homeschooling was an advantage for them. But, it doesn't suit everyone. There are disadvantages, which I imagine makes the decision difficult for those parents who are thinking of homeschooling their kids.
